This winery is located on a steep hill of Southern Styria, to the south of Gamlitz. The Sattler family owns approximately 40 hectares of vineyards, all located in these magnificent surroundings and yielding wines known all over the world. Harsh weather conditions and bio-dynamic cultivation methods all make experience and modern technologies ever more important. Extensive work on the vineyards, together with new ideas and technologies are all meant to create long-lasting wines, at the same time expressing the taste of local soil and climate. The style of Southern Styria’s Sauvignon Blanc is, together with wines from Loire region and New Zealand ones, one of the most recognisable among this strain globally. It’s a really rare, unique experience.
Passion in the genes
The name Sattlerhof is a promise – one of outstanding quality and an extraordinary experience. It is lived up to by the whole family, and especially the two brothers – Willi und Hannes Sattler – who lend each of the two Sattlerhof household projects their special character.
Tradition meets progress
The young generation of the family increasingly leaves its marks on all things concerning the Sattlerhof. Tradition and innovation are the roots for the young ones in shaping the successful future of our family-owned winery. Our son Andreas studies viticulture, has taken co-responsibility for three harvests to date and also started training for the Wine Acadamy Diploma. Our son Alexander has meanwhile created his second wine -which will bereleased in May 2015. Daughter Michaela studies art and has, among other things, designed the labels for Element Sauvignon blanc and Grassnitzburg Sauvignon blanc.
