A cooperative founded in 1962 by 80 winemakers from the municipality of Guimaraes in Portugal. In 1963, their first vineyard was established, fitted with an office with equipment and technologies to collect, process and support the sale of wines created by members of the cooperative. Their joint effort brought about major developments, as well as the possibility of seeking external funding, which then contributed to the development of new technologies, investments in organic farming and better marketing.
In 1998, the cooperative was transformed to support its members in the best possible way, both technically, educationally and legally. Thus it allowed them to develop and focus on the best possible wine making from local strains: Loureiro Trajadura, Pedernã, Azal blanco and rosso, Vinhão, Borraçal and Espadeiro.
Thanks to joint action, technical support and investments, the cooperative allowed all 80 members to develop quickly. Today they produce more than 250 different wines from the Guimaraes community.
Daily struggles, sweat and tears, as well as joint resistance to problems all make that Guimaraes-made wine allow you to breathe and rest in peace of mind after a tiring day.
